I’m thrilled to be a part of team Tell Every Amazing Lady® for the 2020 TCS New York City Marathon. My mother-in-law is a five-year ovarian cancer survivor, and she got me involved with running for T.E.A.L.®. This will be the second time I’ve run the TCS New York City marathon, but the first time that I’ve run for such a great cause.
I’m passionate about the mental and physical benefits of running, but what I love most is the camaraderie. Raising awareness about ovarian cancer makes this race extra special.
If I could send a message to every amazing lady about ovarian cancer, I would want all women to know that it’s important to listen to what your body is telling you and advocate for your medical needs; my mother-in-law likely survived because she felt something was wrong and kept reaching out for help. Now she volunteers with her service dog at her local ovarian cancer treatment center. I’m proud to be running for her!
