I really wanted to run the 2021 TCS New York City Marathon this year. I
didn’t get in with the drawing, so I thought about running with a charity. When
I saw team Tell Every Amazing Lady®, it made perfect sense to me, as my aunt
passed away in 2004 from ovarian cancer. She was so special and close to me, so
I knew I had to apply to be on the team.

My goal for the marathon is pretty specific: I want to beat 4:08:00. I
have only run two marathons: one about 11 years ago and one this past October.
I finished both in 4 hours, 8 minutes and change.

Running makes me feel really good about myself. Whether I run by myself,
my hubby, friends, or even my dog, I love that it gives me a chance to have
that time away from everything else, get some fresh air and work up a sweat!

I wish we had better detection of ovarian cancer. At one point, we
thought my aunt would pull out of it, but, ultimately, she lost her life to it.

If I could send to a message to every amazing lady about ovarian cancer, I would tell everyone who is going through this to just keep fighting. And I would tell my aunt Fran that I love her very much and miss her dearly. I am honored that I get to run the biggest race in the world for team Tell Every Amazing Lady®!!
