Artist and ovarian cancer survivor Joy is now a featured shop partner with Tell Every Amazing Lady®. Joy spent her career as a mixed media artist — until she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and wasn’t able to work the way she was used to.

“I’ve always been creative my entire life, as a mixed media artist I used tools like saws and I poured resin. When I got diagnosed I wasn’t able to do my art, and being a creative person, I need some outlet to keep myself busy and be creative,” she said.

She began making jewelry as a safe outlet for her creativity. “I can do this while I sit at chemo or while I’m on an airplane,” she said.

She started connecting with people over the jewelry, and thought to take her crafting a step forward. “It prompted me to think about it on a larger scale and sell them to benefit organizations,” she said.

She founded Knots of Care, through which she sells cancer awareness bracelets. The company donates a portion of each sale to organizations that support women facing cancer. Now, it has teamed up with T.E.A.L.® to sell its teal cord bracelet, which features a pewter charm with the awareness ribbon on it.

Joy is excited to see where the partnership can take her cause. “I’m excited to spread awareness. My goal is to support other women,” she said.

And as a member of the Amazing Lady Membership Program®, she knows just how touching it can be to receive a special goodie in a T.E.A.L.® Kit. “What I can do to help other women get little packages in the mail, then I’m all for it,” she said.
