The 2018 United Airlines NYC Half was John Bertucelli’s third half-marathon.  He signed up to run for a charity and decided to join Team T.E.A.L.® in honor of his mother-in-law, who has ovarian cancer.  Like other runners on the team, his ultimate goal in supporting the cause is to make it simpler to detect ovarian cancer in its early stages.

John loves running because it’s the only time that he truly has to himself, whether it’s a half-hour or 2 hours.  Team T.E.A.L.® was proud to have John on board, dedicating his time during the United Airlines NYC Half to raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer.

During the run, John may have had a few things in mind.  The first was a message that he wanted to send to every amazing lady affected with ovarian cancer: “Follow all the instructions given to you by your doctor.  At the same time, don’t forget to live your life.”

The second was a message to other runners and supporters of T.E.A.L.®: “It is so easy and fulfilling to make a difference.  Find out what you are good at, then make a goal and fundraise for T.E.A.L.®. You would be amazed at how much money you can raise.”

Thank you John for inspiring T.E.A.L.’s readers with your story!
